The P250 includes all possibilities and features like different camera
selection for fluorescent scan sessions and brightfield scan sessions,
selection of the objective 20x or 40x magnification for brightfield and
fluorescent scan sessions likewise; it is able to handle slides until a
thickness of 1.20mm.
The allowed slide
dimensions are defined as

The P250 exists in a full version (P250_FL) where the Reflector turret unit
is included and a more cost-effective version (P250_BF) without the Reflector
turret unit, so only brightfield scan sessions are possible.
Magazine, used in the P250
· A gear on the rear
of the magazine allows the movement of the magazine in the feeder channel.
· The permanent
magnet is used to detect the presence of a magazine in the input stack and the
state “Output stack full” in the output stack.
· By filling
magazines in the input stack and continuously removing finished magazines from
the output stack during the scan session is in progress, a “Continuous mode” of
the scan session can be performed.

variants are included. References to the appropriate variant can be found at
the appropriate place, usually in the chapter “configure” of the unit or in the
section [Microscope] of the file “MicroscopeConfiguration.ini”.
P250
The P250 is the base version of the scanner; it contains the objective
changer as well as the motorized camera changer, but the X-Y-stage is the same
as used in the SCAN.

P250 Flash
The P250 Flash is an enhanced version of the scanner; it contains
improvements concerning preview creation and possible scan magnification.
The X-Y-stage as well as the flash light illumination is modified in
relation to the previous version.

Required upgrades
To reach the scan speed of 130fps or to modify a P250 FLASH into the
version P250 FLASH2, the following modifications are required:
· X-and Y-stepper
motor driver firmware upgrade
· Exchange the
brightfield scan camera
· Exchange the PC
· Implement the
Matrox Radient board
· Install the
software version 1.17 or higher
Remark
If the required upgrades are not or only partly executed, the software
version 1.17 can be installed as usually, but the maximal scan speed of 130fps
can not be reached.
