Setup the AVT FirePackage for Allied Vision
cameras
· This description is true until the software version 1.14; based on the
operating system Windows® XP x 32bit
The shown procedure
is based on the operating system Windows® XP 32bit and is used to install the
driver for:
· Control and interfacing the AVT camera
“Marlin” and / or “Stingray”

· The install CD or DVD of the software version to be
installed

· The installation should be done from a HDD, DVD or a
pen drive.
Start the file
<Drive>:\Drivers\Scan
camera-AVT\AVTFirePackage.exe
Uninstall the AVT fire
package
The drivers uninstall procedure and the shown
dialogues can differ in accordance with the driver version.
1.
Select “Remove”
to uninstall the driver.
2.
Click “Next” to
continue.
3.
Click “Next” to continue.
4.
Click “Yes” to
continue.
5.
Answer with
“Continue anyway”.
6.
Click “Finish”.
Install the Marlin camera
driver
The driver install procedure and the
shown dialogues can differ in accordance with the driver version.
1.
Click “Next” to
continue.
2.
After reading
the information click “Next” to continue.
3.
With “Browse”
the path for the driver can be modified.
4.
Click “Next” to
continue.
5.
Uncheck
“Install visual studio 6 programming examples”.
6.
Check “For
selected 1394 cards (will open extra dialog)”.
7.
Click “Next” to
continue.
8.
Click “Next” to
continue.
Select the board on which the driver
should be installed. The controllers are listed in the sequence from internal to
external. This computer has no internal FireWire controller; therefore two
FireWire cards are inserted. Select one and only one external card controller for installing the AVT fire
package.
9.
Leaf checked
only the controller on which the AVT fire package should be installed.
10. Check the option
„Install Microsoft Driver for others”.
11. Click “Install” to continue.
12. The dialogue is shown two times. Answer always with
“Continue anyway”.

13. Click “Finish”.
Reconnect the preview camera DFK
21F04.
Find the AVT smart view icon on the
desk top and click twice on it.
Connect the camera. If there no node
is found, probably the driver is installed for the other card (controller).
Connect the camera to the other card.
If the camera is connected right,
the camera type is shown; and by clicking twice on it, the camera driver will
be started.
If the preview camera DFK21F04 is
listed also, the preview camera must be connected to the other card
(controller) or the driver was installed wrong; the preview camera must not be
shown here.
