P250 color filter change
You need the following tools:

1. Checking
old yellow filter at the scanner plate
Check if your scanner has a yellow
filter at the scanner plate. If yes, please remove it. You need a flat
screwdriver to remove the filter with the black bezel.

2. Changing
the diffuser at the lens
2.1. Turn left to dismount the lens
unit. Pull out the unit.

If you cannot move the lens unit, go to step 3.1 and follow the instructions.
2.2. Then turn left and remove the
keeper e.g. with a sharp clip/snap ring plier as seen
on the section.

2.3. Take out the cemented lens
carefully.
Attention: please take care of the direction of the cemented
lens!

2.4. Take out the spacer ring. If
you have no spacer ring please use the provided one in step 2.7.

2.5. Take out the yellow color
filter.

2.6. Take out the white diffuser.

2.7. Change the diffuser for the new one ((a) spare
part)
Then put back the yellow filter (b), spacer ring (c), lens (d) and keeper (e).
If you have no spacer ring (c) please use the provided one
Attention: please take care of the direction of the cemented lens!

2.8. Mount the lens unit to the
flash lamp holder.

3. Fitting in
the big flash diffuser

3.1. Open the cover and unscrew the
screws on the flash lamp as shown.
In the following figures you will see only the flash lamp unit without the
scanner environment for a better view.

3.2. Take off the lamp and noise
filter unit. Pull out the ribbon cable.

3.3. In case you could not remove lens unit follow the
instructions here 3.3.1-3.3.3
If you has already changed the diffuser in the lens
unit go to step 3.4.
3.3.1. Please dismount and remove
(untwist the metal ring and unplug the connector) the cables of the ND filter
motor. The best is to remove all the cables at the electronic box in the
following order: X, Y, Z and ND. Take care of the sensitive connectors.
Do not bend the connectors! They can brake easily which will cause the scanner
not working.

3.3.2. Then dismount the ND filter unit.

3.3.3. Put down to the desk the ND filter unit. Dismount the keeper e.g.
with a sharp clip/snap ring plier.

Change the diffuser at the lens unit as shown in 2.2-2.7.
Then mount the ribbon cable, ND filter unit and X, Y, Z, and ND cables. If you
are ready, go to “Fitting in the new big diffuser” part step 3.4.
3.4. Dismount the metal panel from
the lamp and noise filter.

3.5. Take off the spacer sheet metal
part.

3.6. Put the new diffuse filter (a)
(spare part) where the spacer was.

3.7. Then put back and mount
everything (in the order visible on the pictures) you dismounted before (spacer
(b), lamp and noise filter (c) back to metal panel (e) with the screws (d) ,
then the mounted lamp unit back with the screws (g) to the remain part
(holder (f), mounted still to the machine).
